Is there a DJI Mimo
app for Mac?

Short answer: no. DJI Mimo, the companion app for the Osmo Pocket, is made for iPhone, iPad and Android. DJI doesn't make a Mac version. You can still control a Pocket from a Mac, though, just over a cable instead of Bluetooth.

What about the iPad version on a Mac?

Apple Silicon Macs can install some iPad apps from the App Store. The Mimo listing shows the iPad version as available on Macs with an M1 chip or later, but marks it "Not verified for macOS". That means DJI hasn't tested or tuned it for the Mac. We haven't tested whether it connects to a Pocket from a Mac either, so treat it as a maybe, not a solution.

What Mimo does

On a phone, Mimo connects to the Pocket over Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. It gives you:

What you can do on a Mac instead

Plug the Pocket into the Mac with a USB-C cable and choose Webcam on the camera's screen. The Mac then sees a standard webcam. That's enough for FaceTime, Zoom or OBS, but macOS has no way to move the gimbal or zoom. The camera does accept those commands over USB, so an app can send them.

That's what Pocket+ does. It's a free Mac app for the Pocket 2, 3, 4 and 4P that gives you:

An optional Pro upgrade adds 4K recording, LUTs, auto framing, saved camera angles and vertical video. While you stream or call from OBS, Zoom or Google Meet, you can keep steering the camera in Pocket+.

For footage that's already on the camera's card, the simplest route on a Mac is a microSD card reader. If you shoot in D-Log M, DJI offers official LUTs for the Pocket 3 on its downloads page, which work in Final Cut Pro or DaVinci Resolve.

When you still need Mimo

Pocket+ doesn't replace Mimo, it covers the desk. Keep Mimo on your phone for firmware updates, for shooting away from the computer and for quick edits. When the Pocket sits next to your Mac as a camera for calls, streams or recordings, Pocket+ gives you the controls Mimo would give you on a phone.
