Terms of service
Short version: Pocket+ is a Mac app that controls and records a DJI Osmo Pocket used as a webcam. You can use the free version as long as you like. Pro is a paid license for one or more Macs. The app is provided as it is, so please keep backups of important footage.
Who makes Pocket+
Pocket+ is made by Ferdi Cildiz, an independent developer. You can find me on LinkedIn and GitHub. Pocket+ is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by DJI. DJI, Osmo and Osmo Pocket are trademarks of SZ DJI Technology Co., Ltd.
Using the app
- The free version is free to download and use, for personal and work use. It includes recording up to 1080p, photos, the joystick, zoom and face tracking.
- Pro unlocks more features, such as 4K recording, LUTs, auto framing, scenes and the light adjustments. Which feature belongs to which version is shown in the app and on the features pages, and it can change in later versions. Features that were free in a version you already have won't be taken away from that version.
- You can't copy, resell or share the app's license key, and you can't remove or work around the license check.
- You are responsible for what you record. Please follow the laws about recording people and places where you live and where you film.
Pro license
- Pro is sold through Polar (and earlier through Gumroad). The payment, tax, invoice and refund process happens on their platform, under their terms. See Polar's terms and Gumroad's terms.
- A license works on the number of Macs shown when you buy, one by default. You can move it to another Mac by removing it from the first one in the app (Settings), or by asking for help through a GitHub issue. Please never post your license key in a public issue.
- The app checks your license online from time to time (see the privacy policy). If a purchase is refunded or a subscription ends, the license stops working after the next check.
- A lifetime license has no end date, but it covers the version line it was sold for. A yearly license works while the subscription is active.
No warranty
Pocket+ is provided "as is". I test it with the cameras and Macs I have, mainly the Pocket 3, and I can't promise it works with every camera, firmware, Mac or app. Software can have bugs. Recordings can fail, a camera can disconnect, and a gimbal can move in ways you don't expect. Don't rely on Pocket+ alone for footage you can't repeat.
To the extent the law allows, I'm not liable for lost footage, lost income, or damage to a camera, gimbal or other equipment that comes from using the app. Nothing here limits rights you have by law as a consumer.
Updates and changes
The app can check for new versions and install them with your approval. I may change the app, its features and these terms over time. When these terms change, the date at the top of this page changes. If you keep using the app after that, you accept the new terms.
